photo by civyiu kkliu Drawing from his background in biochemistry and microscopy research, Josh Russell tries to expose temporal, visual, auditory and computational patterns in nature which occur beyond our sense thresholds. While remaining faithful to the original forms, he gives himself the latitude of filtering the pieces through aesthetic processes/decisions and in so doing, he strives to create works that can be enjoyed without context or specialized knowledge.

Josh is curently manager of the Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship core imaging facility at the University of Texas at Austin and starts the Cellular and Molecular Biology PhD program at UT in the fall. |

| He founded Bremsstrahlung Recordings in 2000 which is a record label focused on publishing egoless sound. | |||
He currently has two shows [ ~50 pieces] on display in the Molecular Biology and Chemical Engineering buildings on the UT campus. If you are interested in a tour please e-mail.
